DCS Forensics & Loss Consulting — legally incorporated as De Cárcer Solutions Forensics & Loss Consulting, S.C. — is an independent loss adjusting, technical consulting and forensic engineering practice established to meet the requirements of insurers, reinsurers, brokers and international insurance programmes.

The practice brings together executive experience gained within insurers and international loss adjusting and forensic engineering firms, supported by a specialist structure capable of responding to major losses, complex claims, industrial risks and catastrophe events across Mexico, Latin America and the Caribbean.

Each matter remains under senior direction with clearly defined accountability. Technical resources are deployed in proportion to the nature, complexity and exposure of the assignment, maintaining continuity of handling, multidisciplinary coordination and control of scope, timescales and costs.

Origin and Evolution

DCS Forensics & Loss Consulting is founded upon more than twenty years of professional experience in loss adjusting, insurer-side claims management and forensic engineering across Mexico, Latin America, the Caribbean and North America. This experience includes complex claims, major losses and catastrophe events involving domestic and international insurance and reinsurance programmes.

The practice reflects its founder’s career as a Senior General Adjuster with Crawford & Company, Claims Manager at Tokio Marine Mexico and Managing Director of Envista Forensics for Mexico and the Caribbean, with wider regional responsibilities across Latin America. This background provides an informed understanding of claims from three complementary perspectives: independent loss adjusting, insurer-side decision-making and the direction of multidisciplinary forensic investigations.

DCS is led by a loss adjuster authorised by Mexico’s National Insurance and Surety Commission under categories AJ-III, AJ-IV and AJ-V, and an Ordinary Member of the Chartered Institute of Loss Adjusters in London, supported by professional qualifications in Geography and an MBA. These credentials are complemented by direct experience working with multinational insurers, reinsurers, international brokers, the London Market and Lloyd’s participants.

On this foundation, DCS brings together insurance and claims judgement, contractual analysis, specialist engineering and verifiable evidence to address losses involving property damage, business interruption, construction, machinery, energy, oil and gas, infrastructure, liability, transportation, fires, explosions and catastrophe events.

Experience includes corporate claims, high-severity losses and catastrophic events in Mexico, Latin America and other international markets, covering loss adjusting, coverage analysis, technical causation, damage quantification, business interruption, reserve review, technical valuation and multidisciplinary coordination.

This background integrates technical, operational and executive responsibilities performed both within insurance companies and international loss adjusting and forensic engineering firms. It provides a comprehensive understanding of the requirements of insurers, reinsurers, brokers, policyholders, legal counsel and corporate clients.

Direct involvement in investigations concerning fires, explosions, mechanical and electrical failures, industrial risks, critical infrastructure and CAT events, applying structured methodologies for forensic analysis, origin-and-cause investigation and specialist coordination according to the nature of each assignment.

The practice maintains direct technical involvement and executive oversight throughout the relevant stages of inspection, investigation, analysis, loss adjustment and reporting, under principles of independence, technical rigour and documentary traceability.

Current registration with Mexico’s National Insurance and Surety Commission (CNSF) as an Insurance Loss Adjuster, authorised in the following classes: AJ-III Cargo Transport, AJ-IV Aviation and Marine Hull, and AJ-V Other Property Risks.
